About this property

Ar Dachaigh sits in Balemore on North Uist's west side, where the land opens out towards the Atlantic. The cottage looks east to Creag Hastin and south to Balemore beach, with views across to the Monach Isles. Machair walks stretch out from the door, and corncrakes call in season. The house offers space for families or groups, with a woodburning stove and a garden. Balemore is a quiet crofting village, the kind of place where you notice the weather changing and the light shifting across open ground. It's a good base for those after peace and room to roam.

On holiday at Ar Dachaidh for 2 weeks. Weather was terrible but house was amazing. Well catered for in every way. Brilliant Welcome Pack on arrival, very well received after a long day travelling. We even got home made scones and Ginger Cake half way through hols. House had every bit of kitchen mod cons you could wish for. Unfortunately we were not able to use the well equipped outside area with table, chairs, BBQ, Umbrella etc. We also enjoyed a friendly wave and chats with neighbours. You can’t guarantee the weather but you can guarantee a warm welcome at Ar Dachaidh
