Terms of Use

1. Agreement

By accessing or using uist.com ("the Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. The Site is operated by Oliver & Dominik Doyle Enterprises ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the Site.

2. Use of the Site

You may use the Site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to:

• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Upload content that is defamatory, obscene, or infringes the rights of others.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Site or its systems.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Site without our written permission.

3. Accounts

To list accommodation, businesses, or property, you must create an account using a valid email address. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

4. User content

When you submit listings, reviews, images, or other content ("User Content"), you retain ownership of that content. By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content on the Site for the purpose of operating the service.

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of your User Content. We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms or that we consider inappropriate, without notice.

5. Business listings & claims

Business information may be imported from public sources or submitted by users. Business owners can claim their listing for management access, subject to our verification process. We do not guarantee the accuracy of third-party business data and accept no liability for errors in imported information.

6. Property listings

Property listings are provided by users and displayed as-is. We do not act as an estate agent, solicitor, or property adviser. We do not verify property details, prices, or legal status. Any property transaction is solely between the listing party and the interested buyer or tenant.

7. Accommodation bookings

The Site provides information about accommodation on the Uist islands. Any booking or payment is made directly with the accommodation provider. We are not a party to any accommodation contract and accept no liability for the quality, availability, or accuracy of accommodation listings.

8. External links

The Site contains links to third-party websites (airlines, ferry operators, accommodation providers, etc.). We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, or practices of those sites. Links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.

9. Intellectual property

The Site's design, code, logo, brand name, and original content are owned by Oliver & Dominik Doyle Enterprises and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.

Information on the Site — including fuel prices, flight schedules, EV charger availability, and ferry timetables — is sourced from third-party providers and may not be current or accurate. Always verify critical travel information directly with the relevant provider.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Site, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Site, your User Content, or your violation of these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Scotland. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top indicates when they were last revised. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
