Facebook app privacy policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026

This page is the public privacy policy for the uist.com Facebook app. The site-wide policy is at uist.com/privacy.

Who we are

The uist.com Facebook app is operated by Oliver & Dominik Doyle Enterprises ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of uist.com — an accommodation directory, business listings and visitor guide for the Uist islands in Scotland's Outer Hebrides.

What the app does

The app publishes a link to the official uist.com Facebook Page when a new accommodation listing, local business, or property for sale is published on uist.com. It uses a Facebook Page access token. It does not offer Facebook Login and it does not let visitors sign in with Facebook.

What data we collect

From Facebook users

We do not collect, store or process Facebook user profiles, friend lists, emails, phone numbers, messages, or any other personal data from people who view or interact with our Facebook Page through this app.

From uist.com (used only to create a Page post)

  • Listing, business or property name
  • Short public summary
  • Island location and type (for example B&B, shop, house for sale)
  • The public uist.com URL of that page

That information is already public on uist.com. We do not send private account emails, phone numbers or login details to Facebook.

How we use that data

  • To post a one-time public update on the uist.com Facebook Page.
  • To record on our servers that a listing has already been posted, so we do not post it twice.

We do not use Facebook data for advertising, profiling or selling.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. The only Facebook-related sharing is the public post described above, sent to Meta via the Facebook Graph API so it can appear on our Page. Meta processes that post under Meta's privacy policy.

Hosting and email for uist.com are described in our site privacy policy.

Data retention

We keep a timestamp on the listing, business or property record showing that a Facebook post was made. We do not keep Facebook user IDs. Public posts remain on the Facebook Page until we remove them or the Page is deleted.

User data deletion

Because this app does not collect Facebook user data, there is no Facebook user profile stored for us to delete. If you want a Page post about a listing taken down, or you want your uist.com account or listing removed, request it using our privacy contact form.

We will action a valid deletion request as soon as we reasonably can.

You can also use this URL as the app's User Data Deletion instructions: https://uist.com/privacy/facebook#deletion.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA you have rights under UK GDPR / GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and a complaint to the ICO. See the site privacy policy for the full list.

Children

The app and site are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page is the latest revision.
