Tranquil Sands is a modern self-catering bungalow on a working croft on North Uist's west coast. Built with space and light in mind, it offers open views across the island and sits within walking distance of the beach. The fully enclosed garden makes it a practical choice for those travelling with dogs. The accommodation works well as a base for exploring the island, whether you're after quiet days or outdoor pursuits. Another wonderful week at Tranquil Sands. End of April 2006 Thank you so much Mark and May for letting us stay at your beautiful home again. Having stayed at Tranquil Sands before, we had a long list of beaches and viewpoints to re visit. The beautiful white sandy beaches are a joy to visit and take long walks. All our friends thought we were visiting the Carribean . There is an abundance of wildlife on the island and we were able to see and photograph so many species of birds, seals, red deer and the highlight must be the sight of a white tailed eagle circling low over the house.. The house is a real home from home, we wanted for nothing and it was great to be able to sit every evening looking out over the fields and sea watching the cows, sheep and bird life. We used the Merlin app to identify many species of birds and whilst we heard the elusive corncrake we never saw it. A walk to the local beach at the end of a busy day can be rewarded with beautiful sunsets. I struggle to adapt to a change of bed whilst travelling but I enjoyed a sound sleep at Tranquil Sands in the very comfortable bed. There is a large kitchen with a breakfast bar, a spacious dining room with great views. However the lounge is the jewel in the crown for us. Very comfortable and the swivel chairs by the windows are a great place to relax and watch the world go by.
